If i was in a group that found a " bomb facotory" i would do what it takes to get the information out of the detainees. they might have classified information that we might need to find the leader of there country or other information need to win the war. short term reprecussions of the punishments might be scares or scapes or bruses but the long term could be metal and metal reprecusions are the worst cause they will be there forever

In the beginning of the war the U.S did not want to join the war at all and just let it pass by without any problems. But when the Lusitania, An allies ship,  was sunk by the germans, we had to stand up and join World War I no if's and's or but's. The U.S did not want to join the war but had no choice when germany did what they did. even tho they knew it was wrong they did it anyway just to get america into the war. germany likes to minipilate people into the war and they did it.

Real life or the hidden truths of the world

Dear Editor in Chief,


As you may know Julian Assange is the man behind the mask, or more commonly known at wikileaks. Each of his "leaks" or goverment based documents have never been seen by the public eye and never should have been seen until now. For example, the video leaked of civilians being mistaken for enemies with "guns"  when really it was only a camera strap, thus our millitary opening fire killing inoscent people. now i know what your thinking, how terrible; and thats exactly the point. Should we see what the goverment has been hiding for a reason?

Julian can do whatever he wants but the goverment takes it as he is gonna destroy the world and cause another war. the truth is it is classified information and recorded information. All recorded information might and has the possbility to be leaked. Miley cirus didnt take a hit from the bong knowing that someone was going to send it into the press, but did it happen? yes and thats reality. everything that happens in the world should be shown. Moderation is the answer, if the bad is countered by the good. if everyone learns to see both sides of the story then the world would be a better place and wikileaks would not be such a big deal.

Dear, Future war vets.

Just by a click of a button we can send an email, tweet, facebook message, or text. I wish life was like this when WWI was happening i would always get so frustrated not knowing if my letter ever get home, or if it made on time for my families birthday or even if i would still be alive when it gets there. war is brutal and not knowing when or if it gets there gets me so mad. now you can check if they read it or if it sent. my like would be so much easier if we had fought in war back then with modern technology.

WW1 was when the first airplanes were first invented, and the production of the planes also started a whole new twist on combat in the war. Not only is it limited to ground combat, now we can take it into the air and fight strategically. Have you ever put your self in the pilots shoes or even the gunners? Its not as easy as it looks. the physical aspect of fighting combat in the air is extremely demanding of your body, but in the metal aspect the thoughts and everything you have to do must be excruciating. all the bottons to push, having someones life in your hands, trying not to explode or crash, or even worse Dying? doesnt sound like something i want to do for a living. thanks but no thanks ill stick to commercial jets.

Where am i?

Here i am, exhausted, still trekking my way through this unmarked territory in panama. All my friends are dying from these horrible diseases like  Malaria, Yellow Fever, dysentery,and typhoid. Not to mention i am dying of this tropical heat. I don't know how much longer, my eyes are going dim and the light is so faint. These conditions are absoulutly terrible. If i die tomorrow tell my family i love them.

New way of learning

Yes. Blogging is a new way of learning completely different from pen and paper cause it is very resorceful. It is also very eco friendly because it saves paper. and having to work saved on the computer is also a way to put together a portfolio for colleges to view. Also blogging helps you think about the topic you do and allows you to keep your work organized. in these ways i like blogging better then the boring pen and paper.

Favorite first quarter

I think all the post were my favorite to do. they help you critically think more and get more knowege behind the topic and have an opinion on them. not have a right answer can help but can also be an enemy cause you dont know if its right or wrong so you take notes and make sure your answer is correct. by doing this it helps you change you point of view on the topic. so all the topics are my favorite for those reasons

Hollywood vs. reality

Bad, Strong, dirty, and mean are probably what comes to mind when you think of Cowboys but thats what Hollywood and John Wayne portrayed them to be in the show Gun smoke. But in fact Cowboys were not like that at all. the characteristics of a cowboy where different then what they looked like in hollywood's eyes'. What John Wayne was wearing in the short clip doesn't represent what they were wearing at all. in the video he was wearing boots, a big belt, a rimmed hat, jeans, and a white shirt. But in real life they only wore a white shirt, vest and pants. hollywood blows events, looks, and other things extremely out of the water. Also American cowboys were thought to be thief's and robbers but thats not what they were at all. Being a cowboy was an official job, like being a ranch handler. like hurdding the cattle, produsing food, and traveling west. in conclusion everything that you see isnt true and hollywood needs to correct themselfs

Forget slavery, PRESERVE THE UNION

Abraham Lincoln's concerned for preserving the was much greater then ending slavery for 2 main reasons. The first major reason he wanted to preserve the union was because he was from the north. the north wanted to preserve the union because it would help keep there economy up. Also, Abraham wanted to grant amnesty to the south. this would allow them to come back with out a problem or a fight because they would still be getting say in goverment but the north would still have majority still causeing them to lose and also is why they declined his offer.

Power with less control

"That government is best who governs least" means government that has the most control over the country is the best. I totally agree with this quote. To begin, i think that if you have the most control and laws that work then obviously you wont have to do so much work to control all the bad people in society. with control comes less governing so it would make it the best.

Lies that we live by

Voltaire was a very wise man, and his quote says it all. "History is the lie commonly agreed on", could have many meanings but when he said this he intended it to show that what history is tought to be isnt nessisarrly true. Alot of what is in our textbooks today are altered by goverments to make thier counrty feel and look more powerful then any other. America never surrendering and being totally undefeted is a complete lie but is taught to kids cause the goverment thinks it wont make sense to them or to immature. but the fact of the matter is it happened. His quote explains the what everyone thinks is true about history isnt. but so many people believe it, it has become true.  

Does your life matter?

Everything that happened for a reason. For example All of us in school taking U.S History Honors are all sitting in this room weather it was someone dying during the civil war or WW2. All events in our history make up who we are as a State, Country, Continent or even the whole world. All history matters no matter for good or for bad. Although history is only told by the Winner, there were other sides to the events and why they happened but still happened and made it matter.

Life of working

From the lyrics, "The song of a shirt" you can infer that the woman back then were treated very unfair. working day and night non-stop in raggy looking clothes, always hungry, and were not treated fair at all. the woman were thought to have nothing to live for or a soul, basically just another piece of machinary never stoping. Also they were worked to till they fell asleep, they never got rest. even when the fell asleep at work in there dream they would still be sowing. they worked till they died and were treated bad.

guide to life or just an ordianry game

The game Oregon trail can potentaily connect to learn in many ways. in the game you have to guide a family to the west by useing a wagon by decideing there faith each step or the way. you have to keep track of food supply, clothes, health, and the condition of the wagon. likwise, in learning you have to keep all your papers, thoughts, and assignments. also you have to make choises in you school life that will help you pass the class. for example not going to a party or a concert and staying home to study for a major test you have the next day. in this way Oregon Trail can connect to learning and school.

A reason to fight or getting your own way

Lt. Col. Chamberlain was wrong in that he was tell the soldiers to do when he wanted them to fight in the war. although what he was telling them was his morals and trying to persuade them to fight the union in order to defete them and get what they want. If they won the would have kept there slaves and stayed seperated from the union; when the north wanted to keep the 13 collonies together. Morals and telling them why they were fighting and they all agreed but in the long run he was wrong.

Roadblock or Indestructable wall for former slaves?

Former slaves were usally never educated because they ran into many roadblocks. First of all before they we set free it was highly illegal to teacher a slave to read and write. mean while after they were set free this is where they would hit there second road block. That road block was money, them just getting off of being a slave, not getting payed, they had no way to make an income. With no income comes no education cause it cost money to get educated. so the real question is, back then is it possible to be educated and a former slave? No

Free or Semi-free

Reconstruction had many effects on the former slaves in the south.To begin with, the slaves in the south before reconstruction after the civil war was equally as hard or harder. For example, before the slaves were treated with no respect from there owners and worked there butts off day in and day out. They were also not free at the time and had no choice if they want to do the work. these times before the reconstruction. On the other hand, after the reconstruction they were free and still decided to live on the farms as sharecroppers. Sharecroppers we still technically a slave. they still lived on the farms and had to pay a portion of everything they mad to the owner and had little for them selfs just like before. The former slaves were better off before because they still had all the same things but did not have to live in debt and still live up to the rules.

America can't find truth behind the false with stereotypes

Stereotypes are known by so many in our society because they are over used and are repeated so much that we as americans think they are true. Americans today are persuaded by anything they see, for example, watching the news on T.V or reading it on a website. In comparison if you say something enough people believe it as a true statement not as what is a stereotypical idea. Knowing how Americans think that stereotypes are true like, all Asian people are smart or all Italians are in the mob they are so overly used in our society because in most but not all cases they can be true therefore we think they are correct. But in the end stereotypes are wrong and shouldn't be used at all cause they are immoral.

Lies Vs. the real world

Many things we were taught about history as a young children are all one big lie that we all beLIEved because didn't know any better. But when push comes to shove Paul Revere did not ride his horse to Lexington and Concord saying "the british are coming", in fact it wasn't him at all, and that is only one of many lies that we commonly believe in. History teacher have made us learn something that is not true for the past hundreds of years and people still don't know the truth. "History is a lie that is commonly agreed upon" by Voltaire says it all but we all have the same misconceptions of what happens from the perspective of the winners and not the losers ( the other and sometimes real side of the story ).

Missing puzzle pieces of the past

Countries should not leave out parts of there history that have happened in the past. to begin, everything happens for a reason and the same goes for history past and present because if certain things in history did not happen like WW1 and the great depression or industrial revolution we as Americans would not be where we are today. even if the country is not proud of it or happy with the results of what happens, its there past and its what made them who they are today. for example, the events that happened in america that are sad or bad because a lot of people died like in the "trail of tears" and had to surrender in battle. Everything happens for a reason wether you like it or not. So i think that countries should not leave parts of there history out because that is what makes a country who they are today.
