Causes & Effects of Use of the Atomic Bomb
Causes:
new government 1941
Pearl Harbor attack in Hawaii - Dec 7th 1941

USA declared war on Japan and dropped atomic bombs
Effects:
Atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima (killed 90,000 immediately) and Nagasaki (killed 70,000 immediately)
later deaths caused by effects of radiation

Destroyed everything in its path.

After Pearl Harbor, US government felt that Japanese American citizens were a "clear and present danger" according to the loophole in the Constitution
Forced Japanese Americans into prison camps, USA needed to make sure none of them were spying or helping the Japanese enemies
Korematsu vs. USA: sued USA for violating civil rights-USA wins

Purpose of Propaganda
Persuasion
In USA: tried to gain support for war, troops, and women on the home front from USA citizens. It helped keep us in the war.
In Germany: Hitler used propaganda to deceive his people into believing that his views were correct and the only accepted view for German people.


Rationing
Americans were advised to save their resources such as food and metal in order to help the war effort
Citizens advised against buying unnecessary items, everything had to be put towards the war

Marshall Plan established to help rebuild European countries
Radiation effects in Japan, as well as nuclear power struggles later beginning the Cold War

2. Rick comes out and finds out that Ilsa is married to Laszlo
B. Laszlo and Ilsa plan to go to America to escape
C. Laszlo Finds out that Rick has the letters of transit

-Climax
* Laszlo tries to get the letters, Rick refuses to budge
* German officers begin singing a German pride song
> Laszlo and the rest of the cafe overpower them with their own song
> German officers forced Rick to close down his cafe
* Ilsa makes an attempt at getting the letters from Rick
> Rick doesn't buy it and knows she won't shoot him because she loves him
> Flashback to their romance in Paris - Ilsa tells Rick that she thought Laszlo had been killed when they fell in love, when in reality he was alive
> When Rick and Ilsa were to leave Paris, Ilsa knew Laszlo was alive and left Rick with only a letter

- Falling Action
*Rick tells Ilsa that he will help her, and that they can be together soon
> Isla and Rick are in his office
>Laszo comes to the cafe to talk to Rick (Ilsa stays in office) - tells Rick he knows about him and Ilsa - attempts to tell Rick to give him the letters to keep Ilsa out of trouble
* Police arrest Laszlo
>Rick tells police to wait until Laszlo has the letters of transit to make an arrest with a greater charge

-Conclusion
*Police try to arrest Laszlo as they had planned, but Rick threatens to shoot and lets Ilsa and Laszlo get away
*Rick makes Ilsa leave with Laszlo, assuring her that staying with him was the best decision
> Ilsa disagrees but is later on forced and convinced.
*German officers arrive, Rick kills the lead officer
*Rick and police officer become friends and walk off into the distance

The German Medical Helmet from Battle of Normandy played major role in the war because it allowed medics to get to the wounded bodies safe. although at the battle of normandy they didnt really help because they were sparying bullets and couldnt control who hit who. my great-uncle got injured in the war and this is the helmet of the guy that saved him after getting his arm shot.
