Interview

What valuable lesson did you learn from fighting in such a demanding war?
ummm i would have to say i learned never to give up and keep going because if there is a will there is a way, and to stay strong.

Did fighting in the war change how you lived your life after you returned home?
Yes, i mean the people back home treated you way differently but personally i think "what doesnt kill you makes you stronger" but also, i was diagnosed with PDSD so the flashbacks of war are scary and hard to deal with

If you could change one thing that happened in the war would you? why?
i wouldnt change anything because we won the war, im still alive, and i got to go back to my family. what else could i possibly change? hahaha

What was the hardest part about fighting in the war?
The hardest part of fighting in the war would have to be knowing that i may not be alive by the end of the day, and not being to tell my family goodbye one last time.

Knowing that you may not come home what did you do to prepare yourself to be sent to war?
To prepair myself to go to war the first thing i did was obviously be trained, then after that and know what i was going to be doing in the war I went straight home and spent as much time as i could with my family because it was be hard for them to live if they and i did not get to say goodbye
"My life is such a wreck
I finally realize
I got battle scars, battle scars, battle scars
I got battle scars, battle scars, battle scars
I left behind my moral ties, they're gone before you know
I got battle scars, battle scars

All my friends can see right through
This confidence that I pretend is real
I'm happier this way I think
But I cant remember how I really feel" (Battle scars by: Bayside)

There are many currant events to chose from but i feel the one that sticks out the most is the case against casey anthony. the song i chose i feel relates to casey because her life is a wreck and i think she had alot of time in jail to realize the she is. the consequences following what she did should be life in jail and i think that all that time will make her realize that she has battle scars or just scars in general meaning there is a constant reminder of what she did. Also i think this song can relate to the vietnam war because isnt it obvious, they were at battle and have wounds from fighting and also mental scars such as PDSD. kinda weird to relate both of those events but i think it can relate in a way because they have to live with what they did there whole life.

Technologic advances in past and present wars in media

The war in Vietnam and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were differ in many ways, not just the location of the wars but the technology we used to cover the stories in the news. The technology that is used in the modern day war such as in Iraq and Afghanistan has developed and has become far more advanced, faster, efficient, and easier to use. for example if a catastrophic event happens in the war, the news can produce a live feed to the united states thus notifying us in literally seconds. Back in the Vietnam war it took time and work such as taking a captivating photo and then writing an article of what happened, then they would have to mail it over to the news crew to have it published in the news paper. furthermore the war was not covered everyday as it could be today. It is clear that both wars were different in the way they were covered by the media. It all leads back to how technology has advanced and what else it has come to.

Survey

W: 20 HS 19 College
AA: 10 HS 5 College
H: 16 HS 9 College
A: 3 HS 2 College

most of the time, when doing this survey most of the kids I asked they’re parents graduated from high school and went to college. The parents that didn’t go to college were for economic reasons or situations that didn’t let them go to college. I believe that it’s hard to do something when you have hard circumstances on the way of your goals, but for the most part most parents did end up going to college, witch in my eyes it seems like their kids will too.

i am poem

I am proudly one of the Little Rock Nine
I wonder how it would feel to be a white student
I hear them talking about my skin color
I see the other eight trembling in fear along with me
I want to be accepted
I am proudly one of the Little Rock Nine

I pretend that what they say doesn't effect me
I feel the segregation between our races
I need support from my fellow race
I worry that school will never be safe
I cry only when i am in the protection of my own home
I am proudly one of the Little Rock Nine

I understand the past
I believe it should change
I dream we will one day be harmonious
I try to ignore the hatred
I hope they will soon accept me
I am proudly one of the Little Rock Nine

Malcom X vs MLK

Both martin luther king and Malcolm x used extremely effective technics to move people or pursued the the people to change there opinions on things such as the civil rights movement. they both use different strategies to show how passionate they are about what they were talking to millions of people about. if they had no clue what they were talking about or people not listening to them, they would not have had such a huge impact on the United States. the winner of who is better can not be determined because they both did the same thing, made people change they way they thought of things and were both extremely well public speakers.

class divided or class brought together

I think that all the kids in the video or better yet everybody in the world can either make themselves either smart, or make themselves believe that they are not as smart as other people or dumb. for example if you walk into class one day and be like oh i'm so gonna bomb that test, most likely chance are that you will because you have your mind set on that. just like the kids in the video with the collar they thought that they were looked down upon, making them feel bad because of what they have on. but when they took them off the all of a sudden became smarter? i don't think so, its all in there heads. so if you keep your head up and strong nobody can stop you.

Television

The invention of the television is a very important to history. I believe that media does influence the action of how most teenagers act today in our society. Its something that every child recognizes and a modern society cannot live without. Now , Television has altered how most children and teenagers live. It also changed the source of entertainment, the newspaper is no longer needed because we can inform everybody with shows, news, or programs in the T.V. Overall, it has impacted this generation of teenagers a lot because they are conformed to act in a way which we all think is right. Looking at today, daily exercise is something that rarely happens. Due to the fact that teenagers rather watch a show or go to the movie theater for entertainment. It has become an on going issue that we face. America's teenagers is increasingly becoming more exposed to to explicit material. It eventually created a more violent youth, like today when teens watch showes like jersey shore, they think its ok to fight because people do it all the time in that show show so why isnt it ok.

ROBERT GRUBEr

If you were older would it be a benefit to you living?

Predict how life without the holocaust, would the would be different from today?

What was the biggest life changing moment during the holocaust?

evaluate what you would change and why?

Would you sheos with hitler ? why or why not?
The German Medical Helmet from Battle of Normandy played major role in the war because it allowed medics to get to the wounded bodies safe. although at the battle of normandy they didnt really help because they were sparying bullets and couldnt control who hit who. my great-uncle got injured in the war and this is the helmet of the guy that saved him after getting his arm shot.

the Rape of Nanking is a event that no most people have not even heard of or would ever think to look up, but it is just as bad if not worse then the holocaust. So what makes the different if we learn in school about the holocaust or the Rape of Nanking, nothing. i think we need to learn all events happened in history, cause they all happen and we should all be mature enough to learn about it. hiding stuff never works these days with all the technology there is a way to find everything out and do research on the topics. so editing it out of a text book is rediculous and should not be allowed because it is denying our right to learn.

Mind your own business

Although genocide is extremely wrong and completely unethical, i think we should not creep into other country's business because no one knows what will happen or what it will do to our taxes. if anything it will start another war in which we would win due to our nuclear weapons but that would be killing more people that don't need to be killed. if they are civilized to be a country i think the least they can do is cover there own butt and save there own country or race.

Poem of the past

Pooring a beer is very illiegal
Real men make there own moonshine
Ohhh yeaah
Home is the only place i can drink
I need beer
Beer can't be served to anyone
I don't see what is wrong with it
Time heals everything, not beer
In bars no one can be served alcohol
On every account drinking is bad
No one is allowed to drink

Rural homes

All or nothing

Religion and Evolution are the two aspects of what happened in our history that are "touchy subjects" in the 1920 and even know. but back in the 1920's it was illegal to teach evolution, but today its illegal to teach Religion. hmm that seems like we dont know what we want to or can teach but when it comes to it Evolution and Religion are two theorys that have evidence or a way to show that they have happened. So i feel that All of it should be tought or none because one or the other would be wrong in someones eyes.

organization vs criminals

Although the criminals were commiting crime, they were very meticulous and had all of there crimes well thought out. Every aspect of the crime was thought through so they could do the crime and then escape. The crimes they did were all terible but they were smart about it so i think they thought they could get way with it but in the end they didnt. resulting in getting shot or getting caught and put into jail.
